When Bio is set to integrate with the user profile or take over it, it displays the name of the bio content type as a 'section heading' (I'm not sure if the terminology is correct) on the user account- just like 'History'.

IMHO, I think users should have the option to choose not to display it, since the name of the content type is not usually used for display purposes, and it produces inconsistency with the node view of the bio node (if the node was not linked to the user page).
The attached patch adds a checkbox on the admin page for it, and replaces the '$typename' with a blank.

Great patch, I was wondering how to do this.

Does it make sense for this to be an option? Is there ever a case when someone really /wants/ "Biography" displayed above the content?

There are already enough wacky settings in this module. I'd like to avoid adding more if we could, and just go with whatever the 80% case is, and let the 20% theme it the way they want.

Ah, but in any case. Patch no longer applies.

I would argue that most users wouldn't want the name of the content type displayed... since like I said, it is usually used to describe content types, and not for display.
my personal preference is to leave it blank, but i could very well be in a minority here.
Is there any use at all correcting the patch?

Thanks.

Here is what went through my head: I selected "Takeover profile", and I really mean it :) I say takeover everything including the section headings.

I don't know if my opinion is useful since I use advprofile to just totally take it over... That said, if I didn't have that option, I wouldn't want it printing the content type on that page. Just stick to the content.
