jeremy commentedYou need to assign users to a role with "administer advertisements" permissions to view the administrative ad menus. Also remember that the ad module also has per-ad permissions, and that you need to be an ad-owner to be able to edit the ad.
The default group does not need to be created, it always exists. Any ad that isn't assigned to any other group will automatically be part of the "default" group. Creating a custom "default" group will just confuse things, I don't recommend it.

HellMind commentedSorry I didn't explained very well,
The problem is: only administrator sees the ad block, ( I tried with the default block and my own block group) but I must be loged to see the banners.
How can I regenerate the group table? (Because the default group isn't exist when I try to edit an ad or list groups)
jeremy commentedWhat used to be called the "default" group now simply shows up as "" in the group list. It does not exist. Essentially, if you do not assign an ad to a group, it is part of the "default" group.
As for ads not showing up, please review README.txt which comes with the ad module. In particular, be sure to assign the "show advertisements" permission to roles that you wish ads to be visible to.
kattkung commentedI didn't find readme.txt in your ads module. I must say that your ads module works for Drupal 5.1. But it didn't work for Drupal 5.5. The image only shows up in admin page. It doesn't show up in non registered or registered users. It doesn't matter what right I gave those users.
kattkung commentedThe image ads work in 5.1. When I upgraded it to 5.5. The ads were disappeared. I restored it back to 5.1. The ads still didn't show up. I deleted the ads and added the ads again. It works now. Take a look at http://agemiddle.net/. I don't know why. But it didn't for 5.5. Please use Firefox. The image doesn't show up in IE
Comment #6
jeremy commentedI have confirmed that the ad module works with Drupal 5.5.
I recommend you review the module's documentation. You can find it within the top level "documentation/" directory included in the ad module tarball. Here's a link to the CVS archives of the ad module tarball.
It sounds as though something got disabled when you upgraded. Be sure that your ad block was still enabled, etc.

kattkung commentedI messed up my site yesterday and I did a fresh install today. The ad module was the only addon I used for the site. Now it works for 5.5. I don't know if adding other modules will interfare with this module. Anyway, thanks for writing back. It gave me confidence to try a fresh install. But still, it only works for Firefox. The ads' image doesn't show up in IE.
jeremy commentedAgain, this is usually a permissions issue. Please review the README and INSTALL files to be sure you have properly installed the module. If you have, then please review DEBUG.txt.
kattkung commentedWell, I don't know what happened. I didn't do anything. The images show up in IE now. I just realized that the previous problem I reported is from different download. I changed to development snap shot version from previous production. It works in many ways. I really don't know what I am talking about now since my version is different than the current production.
jeremy commentedI'm unclear if you're still having problems. If everything is working, please mark this issue as "fixed".
kattkung commentedcheck different version of download. The latest development snapshot is the best one to work with.
iantresman commentedYes, this fixed it for me.
Home » Administer » User management | Access control
And then check "show advertisements" for "anonymous user"
