Filter the 'to' field

Is there a way to filter by the 'to' date? I have a series of nodes with date fields, some are single date, some span multiple days, and some have multiple date sets.
When filtering by date->today, nodes that are past the 'from' date don't appear even though they may be within the range of the 'to' date.
Any way around this?
