A strange thing happened on my newbie site today that I felt I should throw out there for more experienced users to comment on. I surfed into my site via a google search (just checking that I'd been indexed, as my site is fairly new - yes, I have) - Arriving at my front page (set to /node/1) - my enabled blocks suddenly were not appearing correctly in the right sidebar - in fact, instead of my enabled blocks (e.g. recent blog posts, a simple image block/button, and a list of links to my friends' sites - all created with simple HTML) there was a load of gibberish in large text that looked like php code. Rolling over this text highlighted some parts as links - most to other nodes in my site. Wary, I did not click thru. Also, I apologize - I did not copy this code so I don't have an exact record (wince).
Interestingly, my flash flickr image block showed up just fine, and none of my other nodes displayed the error. Troubleshooting, first I disabled the blocks entirely, sitewide - then enabled them again for all pages but the front - and finally re-enabled them to the front page, and the error was gone.
Sorry to be long winded, but I can't for the life of me figure out the cause of this front page block error - and am paranoid about attempted hacks. Has anyone experienced this and is there any weakness in blocks I should be on the lookout for?
Comment at will - thanks all
