drupal.org has a couple of common bad keywords listed somewhere to deny anyone to post that in these forums.
is there an additional module that can do this? And if so is there a way to make it only act on forum posts and not content posts for say story/page module.

Drupal.org does not have such a list of words. What Drupal has is, a "dangerous input" filter that will not allow posting of JavaScript or similar stuff. This is built into Drupal.

well its not just javascript
i was going to post an article over making your hidden files show a "hello mr. h4cker" webpage when they say goto: yoursite.com/includes/conf.php
but it blocked it
I also posted a lil while ago with a curse word or 2 and it wasnt that much but it blocked that too.
so yeah....
