As a followup from http://drupal.org/node/176003 :
when something goes wrong (memory limit, buggy code in a hook_install...) in one of the install batches (modules install, locale import), the batch engine displays a message including a link to an 'error page', which simply is the next install step, without any specific instructions concerning the error (as if all went well)

Is this still an issue in D6? Any have time to roll a patch? Does any one know if this still happens in D7 or D8?
