Retease not working with node weight module?

Am I correct that the retease module alters the node weight set by the node weight module?
After reteasing my content, The nodes which where on top because of a node weight of -20 are not on top anymore.
The list is alphabetic, which I do not want.
Is this a common feature, or is some other thing happening and is it not retease which is doing this?
Please advice?

Retease doesn't set module or node weights? If the node weights were changed, then node_load() didn't return the weight or node_save() didn't save it. Can you help debug this?

Off course I would very much like to help you.
Now all my node-weight changes doesn't have any effect the list stays alphabetical organised after using retease.
