I've run this several times as well with the same result. Note that categories are imported successfully (at least for me) and that re-running the import multiple times re-creates (makes duplicate) category and tag vocabularies in Drupal. I've also tried editing the source XML to remove various bits (such as the categories section) to no avail.

I just fixed the bug which caused the problem. The version in the CVS or the next snapshot should work. Thanks for your feedback !
