It would be useful to have some documentation for this module. I think currently people who do not know about its existence from the fact that it is required by the subscriptions module will not know what this module does.

Also a bit of developer's documentation about how this module is to be used by other modules would be helpful.

My first impresion was that this module does the same as privatemsg, basically because for the subscriptions module they said: unsinstall privatemsg and install mail_edit...

It would be helpful to have an initial description of the templates that one finds when they install the module. I'm just guessing at what these are:

user-pass --> Message send to user for password reset?
user-register-admin --> Welcome message for users added by admin?
user-register-approval-admin --> Message sent to admin whose account is waiting for approval?
user-register-approval-user --> Welcome message sent to user whose account is waiting for approval?
user-register-notify --> Message sent to admin when a user registers (no approval needed)?
user-register-welcome --> Welcome message sent to user for accounts not requiring approval or when approved?

Since these don't contain the default messages, it's a little difficult to tell what's what.

Hello,

good idea to be able to manage all mail template in one place !

I try to modify some template for the subscription module ... with a poor result :(
for example all links are not still url in the mail received ...
I don't know if I may define mail template as html with a WYSIWYG editor (fckeditor) or if I may only define the template as pure text.

I'd like to better understand how work the template! is there any docs or howto?

Thanks in advance for your help

D5 version is not going to be maintained. i did build the d6 version from scratch and will maintain it.

i will however accept a patch if some one is willing to contribute to solve the problem in this issue.
