I noticed that if I dont have "publish" checked for events or forum posts under "content types", when I post a calendar event or forum topic, the colors are different than the theme(almost looks like garland, even if garland isnt enabled). I tried it with a couple different themes...happens with all of them. I dont want publish on as I dont want the forum posts and events being listed on the group page.

Im told that it's a feature of core drupal and to look at the markup and css for the node. Can anybody help me out any further?

Thanks for any help

I disabled the theme settings API module and tried a different theme.

Now when I dont have PUBLISH checked, it doesnt save the post at all(event, forum post, whatever). It does act like it saves it.....after you submit it it brings up another page(with the colors screwed up as posted above) and looks as if it was submitted......but if you go back to the forum/ calendar/ whatever the post doesnt show up. If I check PUBLISH, it saves it fine but it also shows up on the main group page, which I dont want.

I dont even know for sure what publish SHOULD do, since it seems to do different things for different themes.

Any help would be appreciated.
