Task http://drupal.org/node/206713 is a predecessor task for this one, since we prefer not to support API 2.x from Drupal 6 going forward.

[Note, due to the sheer number of modules, we may want to break this into smaller tasks, with a few modules for each. This is why I left it as an idea for now.]

The userpoints contributed modules project http://drupal.org/project/userpoints_contrib is a collection of modules contributed by various people.

These modules need to be updated to Drupal 6.x from Drupal 5.x.

As is this is way too vague. You need a specific deliverables section, which should specify how many and which modules to modify. We give students 1 week to do the task, so try to pick an amount of work that fits in with that (of course, the students have homework, etc. also).

I'd also suggest a few sentences of what the userpoints module is and how this task is useful. I think this will make the task more attractive to students and more likely to be claimed.

If the these tasks will be blocked until the individual modules are upgraded, keep in mind that there's not a lot of time left in the GHOP program (I think late January is the last time that any tasks can be claimed), so you might want to focus your effort on getting modules converted from 2.x to the 3.x api rather than upgrading to D6. But that is your call.
