selecting multiple books for sliced book navigation

i don't know if i'm doing something wrong, but in admin/settings/slicedbook_navigation i can select neither the whole book from the main parent book nor multiple books.
i.e. i have books structured as:
BOOKS
- BOOK1
- - BOOK 1.1
- - BOOK 1.2
- - BOOK 1.n
- BOOK2
- - BOOK 2.1
- - BOOK 2.n
in sliced book navigation settings i want to select every book, that is either "BOOK", or both "BOOK1" and "BOOK2".
is this a bug or did i oversee anything?

i guess the solution is having one main book to include any other one, at least as for drupal 5.
(book module is supposed to evolve quite a lot in drupal 6).
