Under admin/content/ you can filter any node type including images however you can only filter images that are attached to vocab/term.

You can create image nodes that are not attached to a vocab/term but are unable to filter through your content to find these image nodes.

Please make it possible to filter images where:
# status is published
# and where type is Image
# and where category none
