Taxonomy-based page templates for 5.x

Again, not too sure if this is the right place for this question. I'm would very much like to create multiple page or node templates based on taxonomy terms. I found a script for it in 4.7 (http://drupal.org/node/83121#comment-684997), but I was wondering if anyone had updated it for 5.x. I'm pretty surprised no one has asked about it yet, since I would have thought it would be a fairly common practice. I'm using path aliases that I don't think are particularly conducive to path-based templates (http://drupal.org/node/104316), but I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance.
