At least three things are wrong with "Compose tips":

  • The page title is completely misleading. One might expect some tips on how to write a good article or at least a comprehensive help page on how to create a content node. What he gets delivered is nothing more than some help on formatting options. Maybe something like this would be a better title then.
  • The path "filter/tips" infringes every Drupal standard. Neither it is intuitively connected to the Page title, nor does the parent path "filter" exist. Its just some kind of orphan.
    I suggest moving it to something like "help/formatting", or "help/filters" to stick with our technical terminology. "help" would be a placeholder for some more user help topics to be added in D7, and would be an existing page with an also hidden menu item (at least for now).
  • Its menu item is located at the top level of the Navigation menu with a low weight. Though it is hidden, this makes no sense, and as it is showing up at the top of the menu it is unnecessarily obtrusive. If we moved it to "help/filters" we would make sure its weight makes it show up right before "Log out".

Do I have to tell you anything about the looks? I guess not. We need to improve on that, too.

Is this important? Nope. But it bothers me for a long time, and maybe some of you as well.

Google lists 130.000+ pages having the title "Compose Tips". How come this page is indexed by google? If the unregistered user role has no rights to edit content anywhere, plus the menu item stays hidden, this page shouldn't be accessible for googlebot at all?
