We are looking to implement the flash-gallery module by endymios.com

The site is replacing a proprietary site management-system called "tablesalt" which had a gallery-feature that
allowed for and facilitated a batch-image upload function that automatically converted a complete zip file of a photoshoot to
thumbnails, and a subsequent image-gallery.

We already downloaded the tar.gz file for the "simpleviewer"
I am just wondering if there is a downloadable and complimentary module that will facilitate a image-batch upload similar to the one provided by "tablesalt"

Not sure if Gallery2 will serve the content you want, but it will upload and sort out zip files. You need to make "Imagemagick" the first graphics library to make this work properly - config option within Gallery2. Download & install both the Gallery2 program and the Drupal Gallery2 module.
