Description

After I install picasa module I can find 4 new entries under "create content" menu:
- Picasa Album
- Picasa Guser
- Picasa Image
- Picasa User

I go to "Picasa Guser" and I'm redirected to google request access page. There I choose "grant access" button in order to allow my site access my picasa albums.
After I push "grant acess" I'm redirected to drupal "Picasa Guser" page where a "Your request has authenticated." message appears:
Below I have to set "Picasa Guser:".
If I enter my picasa user I'm showed "Google validation failed. Try again."

How can I solve this??

I've tried many times

The only way I can test this is to have a username and password to see what your seeing. I do not get this problem and can not replicate it while using valid google account data.

On your site I added gallery picasa all works without problems. That is a name and the password to my gallery picasa the correct.
And at myself on a test site I make the same actions and writes an error "Google validation failed. Try again." :(
Here my test site http://o0-0o.ho.ua, please try to create gallery. It is impossible to me gives out an error. :(

thanks for the test site. I need to explore the differences the locale settigs are having. I'll start working towards a fix.

which translation are you using on that site?

Ahhh I see what is going on now. You are exposing the module to use from anonymous users. The module relies on setting a Google supplied validation token for each user. In order for Drupal to be able to store session data correctly there needs to be a session associated with a valid user id. Can you modify the picasa roles to require authenticated users? I'm thinking doing so will fix this for you.

Also, if you'd like to help with translating the text displayed by this module I'd be happy to add the translation to the module.

Has returned back English language. Also has completely switched -off module "Locale"
Now all again in English. But the problem remained :(

Now module Picasa is accessible only for authenticated users. I relogin on the test site have tried to connect gallery, and again an error "Google validation failed. Try again." :'(
If access with a test site, with the rights of the administrator I can give the password is required to you for diagnosing of a problem.

With translation into Russian/Ukrainian language I can help.

This is difficult without machine access. Here is a version of the google_auth module that inserts additional debug data into the watchdog table.

Can you install this modifed module, truncate your watchdog table, then log into your site and create a Picasa Guser node. When you are done with that export the watchdog table and post it to this issue.

Thanks for helping me figure this out.

Due to the complexity of this module I'm not going to be working on the d5 branch at all. If you wan't to submit patches and can proove they work I'll commit them but all of my developmenht efforts are focused on a proper implementation of the Picasa API in d6

version :Drupal6.6, picasa6.x-1.x-dev,
i have the same issue, here is my solution,
1, include ZendGdata-1.7.1 library into php path, the issue still exist.
2, find ";extension=php_openssl.dll" in php.ini, change it to "extension=php_openssl.dll", reatart apache. this issue disappears.

So i think this is only a configuration issue related with apache and php, not with picasa6.x-1.x-dev module.
