There is an option to allow although the printing of comments, but I would like to have this option not in the backend for the admin, but in the frontend where the end user can choose his/herself if he wants to print the article or the article with comments.

This could be useful in some situations.
E.g. normaly you wanna only have articles to be printed - but there could although be an article that you wanna print out - but the article is wrong in some cases - a 'patch' is supplyed by another user within the comments - so you wanna print out the article and the comments this time.

I see your point, I just don't know exactly how to handle this. I see a couple of possibilities:

1. Provide two links (Printer-friendly version and PF version with comments). This would be easy to implement, but it would not look so good.

2. Ask the user about it before printing. Create a pop-up and ask whether he wants comments included or not. Not so easy to implement, and probably annoying to users.

3. Enable access to the settings for non-admin users. This can already be done, but that enables users to change all settings for the print module (such as display of links or not...).

If you have any suggestions...

I think 1., so using a link to pf version with- and one to with-out comment, would be sufficient.
But there should an be option that let the admin configure this on a per node type basis (if he wants 2 links or only 1 - and what type (with or without comments).
