Hello there!
I´ve recently upgrade 4.7 to 5.5, and have some issues yet to resolve.
One of them (certainly the most annoying one) is the one that won´t expand all editable options links that are at the bottom of each edit node link. Not a single of those expandable links won´t open. In fact they are not even links.
I´ve tried from another pc, fearing that it was a connection issue, but nothing happened!
Any ideas about how can I solve this? I´m pretty much lost here.
Thanks in advance!!!

Still needing help
The error is still there!.... I cannot click on any expandable link (ie. set the path, or the author, or changing the comment options...).
Any chance that someone have had the same problema and solved it?
UPDATE: After trying several times to reinstall the whole thing again, the problem appears ONLY on Firefox, but it seems to be "magically" (?) fixed in IE...
Thanks!

I'm having the same trouble....
I've posted in another thread, but perhaps we'll both get the info at some point. Mine works ok in firefox on my main site, but I have a multisite setup and it doesn't work on any of the others. Doesn't work on Safari either, but don't have IE to check that browser. The address of my other request is
http://drupal.org/node/209397
You may want to keep an eye on that one too in case someone answers it first.
Maybe it is related to firefox.....
I know that my other sites used to work, but suddenly don't. I recently upgraded firefox to the newer version. It doesn't make sense to me, but if yours are working in IE.....
One way to workaround until we get the answers we need is to use the Content screen to promote to front page. You can't change author or date there, but you can make sticky, promote and delete.
UPDATE: Doesn't work in Seamonkey browser either and that is an older version that I'm pretty sure I was using when things were working.
The source file looks like the info is there.
Perhaps an upgrade is in order
I'm running 5.2 and I found some threads that talk about this issue and that they have been fixed in 5.4. I'm upgrading now and will let you know if it works.
UPDATE
Thanks for the link! I´ll keep an eye on it!
UPDATE:
I´ve done the upgading process all over again, and it seems to work ok at the beggining. I´m using 5.6.
1. The problems appears when I convert the flexinodes to cck (I´ve started an issue at the flexiconvert module).
2. When I install the Javascript Tools module this expandable links that used to apear as normal text (not even as a link), appear as links again, BUT, they won´t open.
3. It works ok with Opera.
Hope somebody can help us...
Update #2
When I install the new JQuery package, not the module jQuery update, just the jQuery file inside /misc... the expandable links doesn´t work at all, not even in IE, nor Opera...

I have the same problem
Hey Rosamunda
I too have the same problem, expandable edit links are not working. On seeing your threat, i even tried IE, opera and Firefox browser (my default) but the seems to remain. This bug is really hectic and frustrating since i am unable to change of the url, author details, and Publishing options etc. I would appreciate any help regarding this.

Try disabling JS optimization
I am not familiar with 5.x, but I found in 6.x this issue was caused by Javascript Optimization being turned on. If it is available in 5.x and you have enabled it, try disabling it. Also this issue may be applicable to you: http://drupal.org/node/243662
PHP version
Ain't it got to do with the PHP version? I just migrated my drupal site to another server which turned out to have PHP4 installed, and now the expandable option dont show in FF (but they do in IE), while they did show on the other server.
