Need to unpublish past events. - (Have Scheduler module installed)

I have the Scheduler module installed and I can't get the node type: Events to unpublish after the date has passed.
I have ran the cron.php file manually to try and get the events to unpublish.
The unpublish field goes blank after the unpublish time, but they are still being displayed.

I do not have the Events module installed, I just created an Event node type.

Any ideas? I apologize if I am using the wrong terms for anything.. I have only been using Drupal a week.
