Is it possible to change the url?

For example changing http://www.mysite.org.uk/node/2 to http://www.mysite.org.uk/boots

simply activate the path module. it's one of the core modules.
(administer -> site configuration -> modules)
then edit the node and put the value you want ("boots") under "URL path settings"

Thanx for that but when i click on site configuration i have no further options
