I'm returning to Drupal after a 3 year hiatus and installed the new 6.0 RC2 on my development computer yesterday. Thanks to useful documentation and links on drupal.org, plus improvements installation procedures for the suite of supporting products (Apache, PHP, MySQL, and Drupal) I was able to complete the entire installation in about 3.5 hours. What I really like is that when I did make errors, Drupal's configuration procedure was smart enough to correctly diagnose my mistakes and refer me to the resources that helped me resolve them (example - configuration issues with the MySQL Database integration, mail server, and neglecting to enable mod_rewrite). As I recall my previous venture took several days trying to figure out little issues like this.
I was impressed with Drupal at the time, but I am even more amazed now. Great work!
