I'm using drupal 5.6, audio module 5.x-1.3, getid2 v. 1.7.7

My test audio node shows an file, which plays in quicktime when I click "click to play".
The track is detected as an mp3, 44.1KHz CBR.

I've tried several themes - garland, minnelli, fancy, and the flash players don't show up. I've tried selecting different players.
Iv'e tested in Firefox and IE7.

It wasn't working on my test site installed on my PC, but it was a low priority (as I had no audio to play), and it still doesnt' work now I've moved it to the live site.

Any ideas? Thanks.

you've set the player to show up in the audio settings players tab ?

Sorry - got it to work with another file I borrowed from else where.

So what exactly are the requirements for an mp3 file to cause the flash player to appear?

I don't know why the first mp3 I tried didn't work.

What file was it?
None of the players will show up for me either.
I have selected the Flash player, the file is an .mp3, but all I get is "Click to Play" instead of a player.
Please advise. Thank you.

MP3 file must be encoded at 44.1 kHz, or 22.05 kHz, or 11.025 kHZ

what is your bitrate and kHz ?

I have the same problem... I followed all the instructions (without the getid steps as I don't need them). I upload a 44.1 Khz Stereo .mp3 file and the audio node shows that:

28 February 2008 - 12:48pm — ferran

* Click to play
* Artist: Moby
* Title: Lift me up
* Length: 7.74 MB
* Format: Stereo

* Add new comment * 5 reads * Download audio file * 1 downloads * 1 plays

But not the flash player (1pixelout). I have selected the player in the audio settings page, and I also have the folder "players" inside my audio folder module, so I don't understand why I can't see the player.
I'm using Drupal 5.7, and I have many other modules working (with video flash players and so on).

The bitrate is required for the player to show up. If you don't use the getid you must manually enter the bitrate from the dropdown menu. This did the trick for me after some hours spent happily banging head to desk.

OMG! Once I entered the bitrate (128 in my case) the player shows without problem... that's quite a huge issue in my opinion...
I'm not using getid. I think, at least, in the project page it must say "If you're not using getid, you must enter the bitrate (if you want to have a flash player... that I'm sure you want)". Something like that...
Thanks for the tip, mkoskenk!

Same problem here, I'm messing around with everything that I can to get this to work. All the ID3 information is correct for the flash player to show up but that is irrelevant as there are no options for the player in the admin area.

ive got a similar problem, ive tried mp3 and ogg files but still get click to play.
I have getid3 installed. When i click the click to play button, quicktime loads up and the file plays on the new page with nothing else there.

how did you fix it?

im using 1.4.

I have pretty much the same issue.

The flash player was actually working fine when I was on Drupal 5, but when I upgraded to 6, I lost the flash player. So I know the problem isn't the bitrate. I know the audio module is not complete for v6 yet, but nothing in the current release notes seems to show problems with the flash player.

I too can't get the player to show on D6. I'd love to know if anyone else has and if so, how??!

ps. I have getid3 working and my mp3 file uploaded fine:

Current File	sites/sandbox.6/files/audio/08 Spoonman.mp3
Play count	0
Download count	0
Format	mp3
File Size	6,594,794 bytes
Length	4:06
Sample rate	44,100 Hz
Channel mode	Stereo
Bitrate	213,968 bytes/second
Bitrate mode	VBR

But I just get a little grey square where my player should be. I have tried with all the different players and they all have the same problem. (Drupal 6, Ubuntu, Firefox)

Turns out my browsers flashplayer plugin was broken! doh
