Description
I could put this to use in a new site I'm developing with drupal 6 at the moment. Of course site isn't going live until drupal 6 is finished but if a dev could update this module I'd appreciate it.

#11
Another vote for a Drupal 6 version of this module!
#12
Another vote for porting the Quotes module to Drupal 6!
#13
And none of you could produce a patch?
#14
@nancyw - nope, at least not me...there should be a box option in drupal profiles for people to check things like, "i can't write code"
#15
Or for idiots like me who write too much. Working on a patch now, and I wrote the owner about letting me help maintain the module.
#16
Please share your patch. I could use it too and maybe help porting to 6.x
#17
I have asked the owner of this module to grant me co-maintainer status. If it is granted, I will commit a 6.x version. Meanwhile, I'm trying to incorporate some issue fixes so we can reduce the issue queue at the same time.
#18
I am very much excited about Quotes for D6! Good luck to all of you working on a port.
#19
Most of the upgrade is relatively easy. The biggest "headache" is that I think the menu is bloated with unnecessary entries.
I'd also like to address many (most) of the outstanding issues before making the work twice as tedious.
#20
I hope to have this tomorrow.
#21
How is this coming, I'd like to dress up my site w/ some sarcastic quotes.
#22
Oh, I love sarcasm, so I'd love to see them when you have them. We do now have an export capability.
I got a bit sidetracked today. In case you haven't looked at my profile, I'm maintaining quite a few modules - probably more than I should.
Also, I'd like to have as many issues fixed as possible before I clone the module to create a 6.x branch and have to do everything twice. And then we have the menu entries in this module: I think there are more than needed for a relatively simple module and there are major changes to the menu system for 6.x, so I'm looking for ways to simply the menus.
All in all, though it won't take long, please be patient. I promise it will be before the end of the week. This is a high priority for me.
#23
BTW, it would really help to get some 5.x testing on the patch in http://drupal.org/node/164726 - otherwise 6.x will get it without that testing.
#24
Everyone needs to be aware that a change to the menu system requires that you be on Drupal 6.2.
I am doing my initial testing now.
#25
thanks for the update, I'm looking forward to this and I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
#26
This is turning out to be probably the hardest port I've done so far, simply because of the menu entries.
I'm trying to keep a running "Migrating from 5.x" section on the project page, so please check that before upgrading.
#27
6.x-1.0-alpha1 has just been committed. Please consider it definitely "alpha" status and in need of further testing. I would not put it on a production site.
I know there is a small problem when importing: the message says "quote %id" has been created rather than showing a correct title. I would actually rather see this message go away entirely when importing.
The project page details a few differences in 6.x.
Also, there is a small bug in the 5.x export which I will fix momentarily. If you didn't cut and paste anything from a Windows application, you may not see it.
#28
Please open any problems you find as new issues.
#29
I've looked everywhere and don't see it?? The HEAD version is still the old one, and there is no 6.x version on the release list. Am I looking in the wrong place?
#30
Probably not. I'm being blonde today. I created the tag but forgot to build the release. It should be there in a moment.
#31
Cheers Nancy, many joyous thanks for your work!
#32
Please open new issues if you find problems. Thanks for checking it out.
