Affiliate Module extension

mdschumann - January 14, 2008 - 00:57

Outline:
I require a basic affiliate module integrated with an existing Drupal installation. This would be a stripped-down version of a traditional affiliate model, with a points rather than commission-based system. Integration with Drupal's userpoints system would be perfect.

There is an existing affiliate module, but it does not appear to work with the latest Drupal code, and also does not include IP/cookie-based restrictions for duplicate clicks.

Requirements:
- Ability for administrators to create banners and other affiliate links (e.g. sign on a friend)
- Ability to assign a points value for each type of link (clicks on these banners will assign that many points to affiliate user)
- Ability for users to opt in and out of the affiliate system, whilst keeping their account active
- Use of IP/cookies logging to avoid duplicate clicks
- Some further extensions which I will discuss in more detail with the awarded provider

Additional Information:
It is possible that the above requirements are a first step in a number of extensions to the web site. I am looking for a provider who can meet the needs of a growing project on an ongoing basis. Experience with Drupal would be highly desirable.

Two modules

Both of the affiliate modules have 5.x versions.

Affiliate http://drupal.org/project/affiliate

Spread Fire Fox affiliates http://drupal.org/project/affiliates

The later has some userpoints integration.

Thanks for the info but both

mdschumann - January 14, 2008 - 03:16

Thanks for the info but both modules have issues that need to be resolved for my purposes.

The Affiliate module is buggy and does not work in the latest version (see support forum). It also doesn't track IP/cookies

The Spread Firefox is much better and functions the way i'd like, however it appears incomplete (no way to associate images, doesn't actually allow users to see code for add to their sites).

I'm willing to pay to have these issues fixed and incorporated into my installation. (plus a number of other small additions that I will go into more detail with the awarded provider).
