Howdy!
My Drupal 4.6.5-based site, MangaPunk.com, has been running for several years with only some minor hitches with database corruption. Suuuuuddenly, for no reason I can foresee, I started getting this message out of the blue: unable to select database
Why might this have occurred? Any ideas? Anybody?

Your website doesn't appear to be using Drupal
I checked the source for the page displayed on your website and received the following:
unable to select database
You might want to check with your provider.
grrr, forgot about how the html would be handled
I'll try to post the page source again with the html stripped out or prepended with _:
HEAD:
_type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" id="webdeveloper-disable-all-styles" _href="chrome://webdeveloper/content/stylesheets/empty.css">
html body:
unable to select database
Check with your provider. To get the exact source, do a display source on that page.
The problem was solved,
The problem was solved, thanks for your replies! At first my server provider said the problem was on my end, hence I came here. But, after I asked them if any changes had been made to the MySQL or PHP, they said I had maxed out my SQL connections for the day, kicking in their throttle mechanism. They took the throttle off, and the problem is resolved. Thanks!
glad you were able to get it back online
Is your subcultureofone site also on the same hosting plan? I noticed it was down earlier.
You may want to look into upgrading your plan or finding a new hosting company if you continue to encounter this problem, especially since you mention having your database corrupted occasionally. Saying you maxed out your SQL connections for the day were maxed out sounds odd, usually its a max query limit or something like that for databases. Max connections usually applies to concurrent connections. Either way, you might want to find out what kind of limits will cause them to pull the plug on your site, e.g. memory usage, sql usage, cpu usage etc.
btw, nice sites. Unfortunately I encountered some errors on http://www.subcultureofone.com/gallery/
