The newest version of Drupal, version 6, will be released soon. There are already many modules that have been ported to work with Drupal 6.
For this task, you should create a Drupal 6 test site and look at the list of modules that have been ported to Drupal 6 (see resources below) and try them out on your test site. You don't have to try *all* of them, but you should at least try out 15 of them.
Choose the 5 modules that you think are the best. For each of these 5 modules, write at least 3-4 sentences for each module that explains why it is one of your favorite modules.
Deliverables:
* A list of all of the modules for Drupal 6 that you tested or tried out.
* A short presentation that lists your 5 favorite modules for Drupal 6.
* Your presentation should be in a standards compliant and easily accessible format, such as a .pdf file.
* You should upload your presentation file as an attachment to this issue. The task will be considered complete when it is marked as RTBC by a reviewer.
Resources:
* Wiki of modules and their porting status (http://groups.drupal.org/node/5036)
* List of modules that have at least started being ported to D6 (http://drupal.org/node/206666#DRUPAL-6)
* For a list of modules with releases for Drupal 6, login to drupal.org, go to http://drupal.org/project/Modules, and select 6.x from the drop down box.

TimRogersCool commentedI have begun, haven't finished yet though. Been busy, will finish tomorrow.
TimRogersCool commentedHere's my finished work - what changes would you like me to make (if any)?
aclight commentedHm.....this isn't quite what we intended.
What we *meant* to say was "Create a presentation that shows off your 5 favorite *contributed* modules for Drupal 6". Your presentation gives your 5 favorite *core* modules of Drupal 6. I realize that we didn't make this perfectly clear, but in the resources section the two links take you to contributed modules and not core modules, so I don't think it's entirely unclear.
So it would be great if you could redo this with your 5 favorite *contributed* modules. However, given the bit of uncertainty in the description, if you don't have the time or the motivation to redo this please let me know and I'll review what you've done so far.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Just let me know what you want to do now.

TimRogersCool commentedI'll try to do some user-contributed tomorrow. If I don't have time, I'll ask you to review this!
aclight commentedOk, that sounds good. If you could even get at least 1 or 2 contributed modules in there that would be great.
aclight commentedSince time is getting short, I'll go ahead and review what you've submitted so far:
A.) Slide 2: I would do something like "Core module are ......" and "User contributed modules...." for the 2nd and 3rd bullet points, so that you're using the same terminology that's used elsewhere on the site.
B.) Slice 3: "...I will present my five favorite [core] modules in Drupal 6." You can leave off the second sentence.
C.) In general, I think your screen shots are too small to be seen. You should get rid of the unnecessary browser window and toolbars and crop them so that the feature you are trying to display is emphasized. You're not writing a tutorial, so there's no need to show the entire size of the site. You also have more vertical space that you're not using. If you decreased the width of your browser window some, you could probably crop the image so it is taller than it is wide, which would allow the images to be more clear.
D.) I find it a bit ironic that of your 5 favorite modules, as far as I know three of them have changed very little since D5 (blog, forum, and profile) and the path module has also not changed much except in the administrative interface. The purpose of this task was really to highlight aspects of Drupal 6 via highlighting user contributed modules for Drupal 6.
E.) Slice 6: The Blog module is only necessary to allow multiple users to blog on one site. Drupal users commonly think that the blog module must be enabled for a site to have a blog at all, which is not true. The default story nodes are adequate for this use in most cases. It would be nice if you could somehow make this point a little clearer here, since as I said this is one common point of confusion.
F.) Slide 8: A url such as ?node=31312 would not exist. The non-clean URL way to do this would be /?q=node/31312
G.) Slide 8: "The Path module uses nodes, so you can assign a URL alias to just about anything." This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The module doesn't really use nodes at all. It does allow you to create aliases for nodes, but it also allows you to do that for any kind of URL (ie. taxonomy listings, etc.).
H.) Slide 8: "It’s very simple, and it does the job perfectly. No bloat." I'm not sure this is necessary.
I.) Change the title to emphasize that these are core modules you're discussing.
J.) In general, we use American English spellings in Drupal marketing material (I believe). I notice "favourites" on slide 3 but there may be other British spellings.
This is a bit of a long list, and time is very short. I'd like it if you could address all of the above issues and still get this done in time. However, I realize you might be very busy and may not have time to do everything.
So, for me to be happy to mark this as complete, I'd like at least these issues I point out to be fixed:
A, B, E, F, G, I
Fixing these should probably take you about 10 minutes at most.

TimRogersCool commentedI'm trying to do it now, but I'm being delayed by the fact that I can't find my original presentation. I have moved computers in the last week, and can't find the file. I'm looking as I type.
TimRogersCool commentedI've done the core ones you mentioned as well as correcting "favourite" to "favorite" on Slide 3 and Slide 1. I'm not really familiar with American spellings, so it's hard for me to correct them really. I've attatched my new version. Thanks for all your help!
aclight commentedOk, this looks good. I didn't notice any other British spellings.
Is this your final version or do you think you'll have time to redo the screenshots before the deadline? If you're done with this, set it to code needs review, otherwise leave as needs work.
TimRogersCool commentedI'll get some screenshots tomorrow, then submit it as final!
TimRogersCool commentedI've attatched the final version with readable screenshots and marked for review. Please review it asap!
aclight commentedOk, looks good.

TimRogersCool commentedI've posted it on Google Code.
