Hello,

I'm preparing to upgrade my 4.7 site to 5.0, and wished to replicate my live site

I've:

  • copied my drupal directory to a sub-domain on my main site
  • enabled the sub-domain
  • uploaded my database to the test database
  • modified my settings.php - modifying the database settings and $base_url = 'http://www.newsite.health-harmony.com.au';
  • copied my .htaccess file across to the new directory

I get a home page (which is correct), but I can't login, and none of the links work. I get:

Not Found
The requested URL /directory-index was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

which is not the drupal 404 error page I should get. It's coming from my host server.

my site is http://www.newsite.health-harmony.com.au

I've used the test database before (it was my development site). I'm not sure if that causes any problems, but the database upload was done by the tech guys at my hosting provider so should be fine. The drupal installation/sub-domain is new.

Any ideas of what I might have missed? Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks,
Tys.

the "dirty url" works (e.g./?q=node/4)... not sure if http://drupal.org/node/5590 will help. mod_rewrite probably involved; weak there.

probably want to clear cache and sessions, too.

Brilliant. I managed to navigate to the admin/setting page and turn clean urls off.

I'll be able to fix things up from there.

Thanks again.

Cheers,

tys.
