But now the stable 6.0-release is out. i just upgraded my site from 5.7 to 6.0 - and i am mising my shoutbox.
A Shoutbox for Drupal 6.0 where great, because the "Tribune" will not work on my host.

Second this, I need a shoutbox for my 6.0 project and asumme.... well, that this module would be ideal.

There is a DRUPAL-6--1 tag in CVS which should be fairly stable. It just needs some more testing before we can do a release.

I tested it and found one small problem. It's about the visibility of the block, when you create a role and say that the box should be visible only by this role, then the box is not visible by the administrator! You need to make it visible also to authenticated for the administrator to be able to see it too. That's not the behavior of other blocks in drupal. Why? Because sometimes you want only certain roles to be able to see the shout box, but not all authenticated users, just those of that role AND the administrator, so what should you do? I found that affecting the role to the administrator works too, but I like to think of the administrator as a super user who is above those kind of mundanities.

@alliax can you create a new issue with the bug.

The problem is I don't know if the bug is still happening in latest versions. I haven't been working on the site where I use tribune for all july, so perhaps this bug isn't in the module since a long time!

EDIT: sorry, I mistaken this issue for another module. In fact I'm not using the shoutbox module anymore, I switched to the module tribune which is adding more features than shoutbox while keeping the same features as shoutbox (ie. same module but with more features)
