Yesterday [Thomas] added support for the field_collection module. It needs some testing. I'm interested in your feedback.

https://drupal.org/project/field_collection is the module. It should all be automatic after being setup. One should be able to check the box on the settings page and all the sub-fields should be translated.

Support for field collections has now been committed to branch 7.x-4.x and tested, and this new feature will be released this week as part of the 7.x-4.06 version of the Lingotek module.
