Hello, and, once again thanks for Drupal it's a wonderful program, and what's more it's open source, enough thanks can't be given for this. However, my friends and I are in the planning stage of building a site where you can get stuff for your phone. Stuff like Ringtones/wallpapers/screensavers/ and games. The plan of the site is to make it look like this: http://www.jamster.com/ not carbon copy but similar, where users can send ringtones to their phone through the service provider sms gateway. Or, even download it.

Now, I can see possible modules that may be required.

Front Page, can be sectioned with Panels.

Views will take care of the top ringtones/walllpapers new ringtones and wallpapers and favorites etc

SWF tools should be able to take care of the flash banners on the side, and positioning them with blocks (I think)

And, well, the theme will have to be custom most likely.

But, we are getting trouble with making the nodes that looks like Jamster's top wallpaper or top ringtones (where you just click on get it and get the link sent to you phone) How can it be done in Drupal? Or cam it be done in Drupal. Project Opus is the closest thing I seen to what we may want the site to come out as.

Thanking you in advance for you help....Any tips on modules or workarounds that will be required will be helpful...Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm sure you could get it to look like that but as recommending modules to use, I'm not sure.

I've only skinned drupal and changed the look and such but haven't gotten much into actually adding a lot of modules to increase functionality.

I remember reading something about how to set up an image gallery with CCK and views.. maybe look that up, sorry I can't be of further help!

You need to use an SMS/MMS gateway service provider to provide the interface to push data from your website to a user's mobile phone. (This will also provide the billing model by which they will pay for the service).
The exact way in which you interface with each provider is different in every case, so you won't find a generic module for download - you'll have to develop it yourself to work with your particular provider.

I've successfully integrated drupal sites to work with the service from plusconnect (http://www.plusconnect.net/) - most providers supply details of their interface, or provide sample code so it's not difficult to implement.

thanks for the reply Idid some moer reseach, and I found the gateway module which seems AWSOME! One this though. How do you go aboutmaking nodes like those on jamster. So that you can just click on "get now" and you can send the phone on your tone? How to you get the "get now" button in that position in the node. I'm a little stumped on that also...thanks in advance...

Hi,

We've just beta launched a new SMS gateway (http://www.me2mobile.com) that has really simple integration APIs and online tools for building mobile content services. Integration to Drupal would be very easy.
