Hi,
There is a Bay Area Drupal group here:
http://groups.drupal.org/bay-area
There aren't regular meetups in San Francisco as far as I know, but we have a regular monthly meetup just across the bay in Berkley at UC Berkley. Check out:

New but something to offer
I am new to drupal... learning fast.... want to learn faster :)
I am a recreation professional by day, designer by night, as a recreation professional I have a lot of experience planning and organizing events. I would be willing to help with any logistics to get a drupalcon sf. Just let me know.

I'm always looking for a conference, workshop, training, or some other excuse to go to San Francisco. The area is a no-brainer for lots of people involved in technology - would be a huge turnout for a DrupalCon. It has my vote! (or Las Vegas)

I'd love to attend a Drupalcon in San Francisco
I don't know how Drupalcon planning works, but if this forum thread counts for anything then add my vote!
