Finally managed to upgrade my game site to use Drupal. Learnt an awful lot about Drupal in the process as I had to write myself a module. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Looks nice, too dark but I will take a closer look.

That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would you mind sharing the module? I would just love to use something similar... but if you don't I totally understand :)

I wouldn't mind sharing it but you have to accept that I have hacked it to work for me. It is probably nowhere near the quality of the modules you will get here. If you are still interested pm your e-mail and I will send it to you.

Ok here it is www.glasoft.co.uk/game.zip
A few points to note:
This module depends on taxonomy but doesn't enforce this like other modules do.
The settings page doesn't work as intended and the paths are hard coded as files/games and files/games/images
The install will only create a mysql db table
Good luck with it but you may wish to add/change it to suit your needs.
If you get it working a link would be nice :)

I made my own module game which is linked about two posts above. The layout is the implemented in template.php and I used one of the snippets found on this site for two columns.

does this module have to have another module to work?
i am trying it on a new site http://www.the-green-flash.com
Oh yes it also adds a point
Oh yes it also adds a point to the user on each access of a game so it depends on user points and taxonomy. If you don't want that find the line that sets it and remove it. Don't have access at the moment else I would tell you line number. If you can't find it I will look it up when I get home.
[edit] Just in case you still need this it is line 61 and 62 in game.module thats adds the point to a user. Remove it if you need to or alternatively turn on the userpoints module.

No didn't annoy me just wondered what you meant. I started my collection by purchasing a game pack from http://www.gamepacks.org/. Since then I have just collected as many as possible from wherever I can. The pack is not that good as I am still working out the doubles and non-working games it contained but it got me started.

Yes and I did look at that
Yes and I did look at that before I wrote my own module. It just seemed a bit like a hammer to crack a nut for me.
Points?
But how can I keep track of the points?
The userpoints module manges
The userpoints module manges points for each user. My module merely adds a point to the user that played a game. Actually played really means loaded the page that the game is on.
Revisited this
I have recently created a game site as Biladi suggested using flashnode as the base. I have to say this site is better to manage than the previous one. Let me know what you think of it.

Is anyone here interested to add free video games trailers module to your site - I think that my module may be very useful for your sites - it adds thousands of video trailers content without loading them into your database and storing them on your server - see example: http://helendev.lanafurs.com/?q=videogamestrailer/57/35046/Star%20Ocean:...
