Create new user based on specified e-mail address

I'm attaching a patch to add three optional features to this module:
-- first, to create a user with the specified e-mail address if one does not already exist.
-- second, to send an e-mail notification of the new account.
-- third, to change the author of the current node to the user specified by the e-mail address.
