My forum module was working, then I disabled it, then re-enabled it, now it seems to be broken! I create a new post and it created it fine, but the post does not belong to any forum, doesn't have the correct url to belong to a forum and is just a free-lancing node. I don't know how to fix my forum to work again. What did I do?

I went into the taxonomy or Categories section and deleted the "Forums" vocab that had a few test forums in it and then went into Content management > Forums and created a few containers and forums and posting worked again.

I was just about to post this same question on Drupal Forum. First did a search, came up with nothing relevant in the first 100 atl east. Followed the same steps and this resolved the problem! Thank you for this timely post. Now I better get back to recreating my categories.

Same issue with 6.14. This simple fix worked for me as well.
