I've ported submenutree to Drupal 6.x. This isn't really a patch, but the whole module.

bengtan commentedHi,
Thanks for this. I haven't even started looking at D6 yet, except to know that the menu system has changed a bit.
It might be a challenge for me to upgrade submenutree to D6 and support it when I haven't done a single D6 installation :)
Still, I'll have a look at your submission over the next few days or so and get back to you.
Thanks.

bengtan commentedHi again,
Sorry I haven't had time to look at this yet. I'm a bit overloaded at the moment.
Plus, I want to look at D6 properly before committing any port of Submenu Tree to 6.x. It would be irresponsible for me to do so without due diligence.
Hopefully over the next 2 weeks or so, I can find some time to address this.

domasj commentedIt doesn't seem to work with latest cvs checkout.

bengtan commentedHi,
That's because I haven't reviewed the proposed code, nor have I checked it in.
CVS HEAD contains an old version of the 5.x series of the module.
If you want to try the proposed D6 port (attached as part of the issue above), you are very welcome to. I haven't had time to look at it or D6 myself.
domasj commentedI'm that I was unclear what I tested. I tried the attached module with recent Drupal 6 CVS HEAD. After installation the module suggests 2 block and none of them really displays anything. There are no specific block options. Thus, I consider it non-functional.

bengtan commentedHmmm... okay. Consider 6.x unsupported at the moment then. I'll try to give it some time next week.
bengtan commentedI've tried the patch and agree with #5. The proposed module installs fine, but doesn't seem to do anything.
In the next month or two, when I move my sites to D6, I will allocate some time to port Submenu Tree.

copelco commentedI believe this is exactly what I need for my project. Are there any working alternatives to this for Drupal 6?
bengtan commentedThere most definitely are other ways to structure content in Drupal ie. book.module, taxonomy etc. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages compared to submenutree. A detailed comparison is outside the scope of this comment, but you can find information elsewhere on the Drupal website.
I do intend to port submenutree to D6 when I have a need for it, but I'm not sure when that will be.
If anyone offers a bounty, I would most certainly consider porting sooner rather than later.
