I have follow up the instructions on your solution 1 (readme.txt), everything is ok but when I go to the brand new child node, Drupal displays this warning:
warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, '_node_form' was given in /mypath/includes/form.inc on line 218.

The new child node is ok, but the warning.
