A strange thing started happening to the shoutbox display when viewing in IE7 -- when the auto-refresh kicks in, rather than showing the shouts, it shows this:

I checked out all the shouts stored in the db, and nothing looks strange. On top of this, it refreshes fine in FF2, I'm only noticing this in IE7. Any ideas?

Today it has decided to work as expected. I can't explain it. I'll keep monitoring it to see if happens again.
