"Add a new..." is littered within the default code. When you Add something it is assumed that it is new. It would be best to take out the "new"... seems like a small change but these small changes can add up.

Where are you talking about "Add a new..." displaying. If you look at the 3.x version of this module there is no text displayed to the admin or user.
