Multiple errors in audio upload NOT due to php.ini limistations

Hey, I'm running Drupal 5.6, and the latest version of the Audio Module. This is a fresh install and database, and this is my third website using the audio module. Not had any problems like this before, though. When i try to upload audio, I get the following error messages:

* The selected file /var/tmp/tmp_7zyRPM could not be uploaded, because the destination /tmp/audio/080106.mp3 is not properly configured.
* warning: Attempt to assign property of non-object in /home/limafirs/public_html/home/modules/audio/audio.module on line 613.
* warning: Attempt to assign property of non-object in /home/limafirs/public_html/home/modules/audio/audio.module on line 614.
* The following errors where encountered while reading the file's ID3 tags:
o Could not open file ""

* This file is not compatible with the Flash audio player. Flash can only play MP3 files with a sample rate of 11, 22 or 44KHz.

I've gone through all the audio settings I could find, but didn't see anywhere to change the tmp directory. This is not an audio import, it's an upload. And it seems to me that it's trying to upload to a directory that doesn't even exist, and it's outside of my drupal root, /tmp/audio seems to me to be trying to write to something outside of my /public_html root. I have no idea what the next two lines mean. As far as the fourth line, getID3 says it's installed properly, and the file information is there. The last line is confusing to me, because the sample rate of my file is 22khz. Maybe that's just there cause the file is getting bounced before getID3 can read it.

Any help would be appreciated, cause I've done all I know to do.
