Pathauto has been working great up to I installed the image module and when I tested a image upload this cam back
warning: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Unknown modifier 'p' in /home/outcast/public_html/shadows/modules/pathauto/pathauto.inc on line 156.

many times over, Well I though ok screw this image module so I deleted it,
Now when I went to my account I got the same error
so I deleted pathauto and url_alias_extra and url_alias the user base
reinstalled the user base from a back up
reinstalled pathauto
ok pathauto seems to work great with it set to user/[user-raw] but when changing it back to just [user-raw] the same error comes up
I can set the url in URL aliases but path auto sets it back to the user/1 and gives the error
any ideas at all
Im running drupal 5.5 and pathauto 5.x-2.xdev
