If I am an admin with the ability to change people's roles, it would be vastly useful if, when I land on a user's edit page (or administer?) i could change their role, access level and other per-user settings. That I have to hunt this stuff down in the admin section seems a bit cumbersome...

If we don't want to move this information to a user "sheet", perhaps we should rethink where all this info is buried in the admin section.

Maybe I'm missing something, but when you land on a user's edit page, you can change his roles. Going to user/x/edit is the same as going to admin/user and clicking the edit link next to the user. They both go to the same page, at least in 4.6.

Yes, it is still the case in Drupal 5 that you can change the user's role on their profile page. Marking as closed.
