Until very recently (a few days ago) using "yahoo.com" as the OpenID URL succeeded in directing the user to Yahoo's login page. Yahoo does implement an OpenID server.
Today when I tried it, I got the following message:
Sorry! You will not be able to login to this website as it is using an older version of the the OpenID technology. Yahoo! only supports OpenID 2.0 because it is more secure.

owen barton commentedCan you reproduce this with Drupal 6? If so, we should probably deal with it in core first, since that is near to release.

walkah commentedAs the public beta of Yahoo's openid service is not yet live, you will not be able to login until that goes live next week.
That said, I have been working with Yahoo! to ensure that our implementation works cleanly... Expect a 1.1 release in the coming days!

agharbeia commentedI don't know if you still want to know this or not, but it does behave the same in Drupal 6; now that I tested.

fgmI can login normally using the module on D5.7 and a https://me.yahoo.com/someuser identifier, so it seems to be fixed.
