Description
As mentioned in one of the screencast, pressing F1 should toogle the UI interface but I can't make this work. F1 in Firefox (winxp) is opening the help screen !?!? I' working with D5.6

Well, Drupal cannot override that, so Firefox wins there. Do you have a suggestion for a better / additional (?) hotkey?

The admin menu dropdown (http://drupal.org/project/admin_menu_dropdown) uses CTRL-ALT for toggling the menu. How about CTRL-SHIFT or ALT-SHIFT which don't seems to have any hotkeys affected.
Another suggestion could be to let the user (admin) define it according to is browser specifications ?? Is it possible ???
Thanks

On windows "Left Alt+Shift" is the default hot key for switching between input languages..
I do not recommend using "ctrl alt shift" keys without a letter key or mouse action. It is wrong design for user input, and may introduce problems.

Had the same problem... am using 6.x with Vista / IE7 / FF3 and both IE and Firefox bring up help when I press F1! So I would say this is a poor choice of button because 90% of people are on IE or FF.
I suggest F2. It doesn't seem to be assigned on either of these browsers. I searched the FF shortcuts http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Keyboard+shortcuts and the IE shortcuts http://www.microsoft.com/enable/products/KeyboardSearch_IE6.aspx (official IE6) and http://www.keyxl.com/aaacd98/28/Microsoft-Internet-Explorer-7-Browser-ke... (unofficial IE7) and none of them mention F2, whereas F1, F3, F5 etc are already assigned.
Not sure about Mac? But I think F2 is looking good to me.

Clearly, the brilliance of my suggestion has stunned everyone into silence.
