Creating simple flash content
Simple content
If you want to add a simple swf (flash) file all you need to do is:
- Click Create content on your site menu
- Click Flash
- Fill in the title for the page.
- Click Browse... to locate the swf file you want to upload.
- Fill in the body and other fields as required. Don't worry about the basic or advanced flash node options.
- Click Preview or Submit.
And that's it. Flash node will try to determine the size of the swf file automatically, and is usually successful. Assuming it can get the size the flash content will appear.
Changing the size of the flash movie
If for some reason the size isn't detected, or you want over-ride it, you can adjust the size of the movie by editing the node and opening the Basic flash node options. You can enter a new height and width, measured in pixels, or you can clear the height/width fields to get flash node to revert to the defaults.
Note that flash node can normally get the default height and width automatically. If for some reason the height or width fields remain blank when you preview or submit it means that this function isn't working and you will need to provide a height and width for flash node to use.
Flash node provides a feature to let the site administrators limit the displayed size of flash movie. If this has been enabled and the movie is larger than the limits then the display will be scaled down so that it complies.
Changing the display mode
When viewing a flash node the flash element can be configured to display in both the teaser and full view, only the teaser view, or only the full view. You can adjust this setting under Basic flash node options. Note that the site administrator can choose to disable access to this setting to prevent users over-riding the site preference. The site administrator can also choose what the default setting is. If the administrator doesn't specify otherwise then the default is to display the flash in both teaser and full view.
