I visited your official web site Drupal.org
But I could see only
DownloadDrupal 5.6.
Download Drupal 4.7.11
How can I download the latest version which you have mentioned in the above list bbox
ie Drupal 6.x
My michine's operating system is windows XP Professional.
What should I do after downloading either Drupal 5.6 or Drupal 6.x?
From your web site I could understand that the platform is PHP and Supported database is MySql.
What about the web server?
You have mentioned a web server called 'Apache Web Server for Windows'
So my question is bebore installing the downloaded software, should I install the followingfor running the source code which I download from your official site?
1. PHP Sowtware
2. MySql
3. Apache Web Server for Windows
Please help me with a solution as early as possible.

There is being a thing called a handbook. It is linking from the front page in many ways. A handbook is a thing of having what some people is calling instructions. With the instructions you will be finding the answers and getting started most quick.
CAUTION!!
If this is the only and first time in your life you have been hearing about the thing called Apache Web Server" I am thinking that many difficulties will be obstructing your path with your findings in Drupal.
What I mean is
- you will be having many troubles with the usings and understandings. It is not so simply for someone who is using the webs the first time.
The Drupal 6 you enquire about is only for experts and testing this month, so not a good idea for the first software for yourself.

Short answer: It depends on what you want
If you only want to run Drupal on your own PC, for testing, then the answer is yes. More information about how to do so here: http://drupal.org/node/263
If you want to use Drupal to create websites that can be seen and used by others, you need to find (and in most cases, pay for) a web host which can fulfil the requirements ( http://drupal.org/requirements ). In that case, you will install and run Drupal on your hosts's server, and the only software you need at your own PC is a browser.
