I've got a strange one. I am Admin User 1 but I am unable to add any additional tags to the "Input Formats" field. I only have the default ones there:

  1. I've got other Drupal sites and have never experienced this problem before.

    Any thoughts?

Hello Locked,

Man it's nice to find the fix. I read through the thread at: http://drupal.org/node/208700 and towards the bottom is suggests the following:

If you can't apply a patch then it follows from gpk's last comment that you can simply grab the /modules/filter/filter.info and /modules/filter/filter.module from the extracted 5.x-dev and replace just these two files on your 5.6 /modules/filter directory. I just did it and works like a champ.

I did this and it worked.

Its hard to ask a question without expecting the answer to include the "use the search" line. I did. I searched "input format" and got, and still get, all kinds of information on "input format" but no link to the current post that answered my question.

Thanks for the help. My site works now.

Ben

A simple place to check is to make sure that even if you are ad admin, you must have the admin group allowed to edit input formats. remember that every time you add a new module or configure new features you must go to "Access Control" to allow existing roles extra permissions.

UID=1 (the first account you created after installing Drupal) is immune from this and alway has all admin powers. If you have more questions, please ask and also post the solution that works for you so that others can refer to it going forward
