Ok, I am trying to set up drupal as a model showcase, club gallery showcase, etc... meaning, I will be uploading a bunch of pictures for models, from clubs, special events, etc and I will need to offer them to users in original high quality sizes as well.
now, I wanted to create a thumbnail preview for each of these "galleries" if you will, where each gallery will have one 200x200px image preview (main image), 4-5 100x100px smaller thumbnail previews (all in one line, so to speak), and a link to more images from that gallery - a page that will either use "flash_gallery" module or something similar that will display all thumbnails from the gallery and once clicked the thumbnails will open up in either flash preview window (a-la flash_gallery) or in thickbox window.
either way, I want to list an X number of these galleries (with 5-6 preview thumbnails from each) per line, on certain pages, etc... and I'm seeing all these image-related modules, but now I'm confused - which one would be the best tool for the job, while keeping it real simple and allowing me to set thumbnail sizes of all uploaded images, permissions, etc?
what would you suggest?

Something similar
I may be doing something similar - a gallery for scale model images - and will probably use Gallery2 (http://gallery.menalto.com/) with the drupal bridge module. Although I only need one thumbnail preview per gallery.
It seems to work fairly well.

I've looked into that
I've looked into that gallery and it's great, but I am looking into a gallery module that doesn't require me to reload the pages to get to the next picture in gallery - thickbox, flash_gallery, etc...
that, and the ability to select few images from the gallery to be "featured" for that specific gallery, instead of just one (as it is the case with most gallery software packages/modules).
