I hate to request additional functionality (I'm trying to make it happen by installing multiple node-list modules-- node-list2, node-list3-- renaming the variables-- and then adding a taxonomy field).
It would definitely be desireable to be able to create multiple node-list pages so that the module could be used to create page (or book) indexes for each taxonomy, if so desired. It would be fantastic (perfect) if this could happen by installing this one module. But, if I can have multiple node listing modules, that might also work (although I know it's not the most efficient).
Incorporating all of this into the one module sounds a bit too complex for me, but if I get far enough in my PHP knowledge... who knows
I also should add that I really LIKE the ability to exclude pages from the index... this allows me to create all of my parent pages as books and then create the children as pages-- hence, the index only indexes what I want it to index--- terrific!
Well, I really hope this functionality can be added by someone else-- I will be much slower and less efficient.

Flexinode.module may do some of what you want. For more discussion about flexinode, site maps, and node lists, see this thread.

Clarification: I can reach different node lists through various taxonomy calls in the URL. However, I believed that once I setup nodelist to use book nodes, I could not use nodelist to view other node-types. I realize now that this is not the case. I can "control click" on a second node type in the node_list settings, and as long as my vocabularies don't overlap, I've got another type of node-list going on.
The functionality is already in the module, this user just didn't fully appreciate it. Thanks again for the great contribution!
