I was not sure where to post this but here is the problem.

for some reason if i make a new content type users do not have access to it. I have checked access control and have given "registered user" access to create the content type and edit own content type, but when a user goes to create content the new content type does not show up. If they go directly to the content type creation page example ( node/add/forum/22 ) it just loads the content type page.

the site admin ( user 0 ) can create and edit the content type but no one else can.

any help would be great.

I've created a new content type and have given access to all user through the access settings. However, even those who create the content type can't access it. Only the site admin can't.

It seems that the access control Access content doesn't take into account new content types...is there a way to sort of refresh the list of new content types so it recognises them.

You could try installing the devel module and clearing the cache as a start.

I also have this problem. I made 2 new content types but only the admin account can see them, Other users/guests cannot see them at all.. like they virtually don't exist.

Trying to figure out why but still no luck.

Hi there,

I seemed to have fixed the problem of the Content Types not showing up. Trying logging into the Admin account.. go to Admin -> Content Management -> Post Settings

There should be a message at the top wanting you to refresh permissions or something like that, anyways you can't miss it. Click the button, press confirm and everything should be fixed!

Yes, thanks Extrix this worked for me also.

If anyone like me is having difficulty in finding the exact admin page to do this, you will find it here
